Balanced Man Program
|
In 1991, recognizing the need for change in the American fraternity system, SigEp developed the 'Balanced Man Program' (BMP). This abolished pledgeship from the fraternity, in order to destroy the stereotypes around fraternities. The BMP reflects the fraternity's mission of 'Building Balanced Leaders for the World's Communities'.
The BMP allows brothers to develop continually throughout their college life, undergoing three challenges: Sigma, Phi, and Epsilon. The Sigma challenge is for getting the new brother acclimatized to the campus and the fraternity. The Phi challenge is for brothers to realize the benefits of fraternity life, and to further help with university life. The Epsilon challenge is to get the brother ready for life beyond college and SigEp.
